Green Vehicles Campaign:

With the purchase of 3 flexible fuel vehicles, Carol Stream has taken strides to reduce its gas emissions. The Village is also planning on increasing the size of its green vehicle fleet over the coming budget years.

Clean Energy Campaign:

Carol Stream has entered into an agreement to purchase E-85 fuel for their green fleet from DuPage County, reducing their annual greenhouse gas emissions.

Other Environmental Campaigns:

Preparing for winter, Carol Stream_ǖs street department has adopted a pre-wetting snow and ice removal program in effort to reduce the quantity of road salt used during the winter season, which will improve water quality.Restoring pond shorelines is another way the Village is cleaning up its water. This program will reduce soil erosion and increase bank stability in 35 ponds. During American Rivers weeks they are also sponsoring a Pond Sweep campaign in effort to clean up trash and debris that might cause local flooding and impede proper drainage. This campaign will take place starting June 1st
